Lumber Mill Gains Efficiency from Motion Upgrade
Vaagen Brothers Lumber, Inc., built its control systems around the Rockwell Automation Allen Bradley® ControlLogix programmable logic controller (PLC), using the now-discontinued 1756-M02AS and 1756-HYD02 motion modules.
On a recent upgrade, the team chose Delta Motion’s RMC motion controllers, which Rockwell Automation recommends as a replacement. The process was completed quickly and easily, with immediate improvements in system performance and reliability.

Advanced Motion Controllers Enable One-of-a-Kind Cold Press Design
When W&O Supply set out to build a custom 3,000-ton cold press for military-grade ship fittings, they needed motion control that was fast, precise, and rock-solid reliable. They turned to Delta Motion’s RMC200. In just two days, the system was fully integrated and delivered smooth, synchronized control that exceeded expectations. Competing systems had taken years to fine-tune for similar applications, but Delta got it right from the start.
This real-world success story highlights how advanced motion control enabled a one-of-a-kind design. Explore why Delta was chosen for this high-stakes project and how the RMC200 proved to be the ideal solution for heavy-duty, mission-critical automation.

A Challenge and A Solution: Automotive Manufacturers Can Do Something They Simply Couldn't Before
When automotive supplier SIDEM needed a ball joint tester with extreme precision, the project nearly stalled until Belgian integrator AHP Hydraulics stepped in. With Delta’s RMC75E controller and powerful RMCTools software, AHP achieved force control and accuracy that no previous system could deliver. This case study offers a clear look at how smart engineering and solid technical support can solve complex motion control challenges.

Understanding the Derivative Term in PID Control
In this Control.com article, David Peterson, Director of Engineering for Control Automation, explains how the derivative (D) term in PID control affects motion systems in real-world applications. He breaks down the concept of rate of change and demonstrates its impact using a Delta Motion training unit. Through visual examples and relatable analogies like driving a car, readers see how D gain improves system stability, reduces overshoot, and enhances response. The article offers practical insight for engineers looking to deepen their understanding of PID tuning and system performance.

RMCTools Now Supports CIP Bridge Communication with ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLCs
This is a perfect solution for isolated or segregated networks where a direct connection between RMCTools and an RMC isn't possible. CIP Bridge allows Delta’s RMC motion controllers to communicate across Allen-Bradley PLC backplanes, providing engineers with greater flexibility when designing systems with isolated networks. Simple, powerful, and now confirmed to work seamlessly.
