Delta Adds Tuning Wizard for Pressure/Force Control

April 19, 2010 — Battle Ground, WA — Delta Computer Systems, Inc. announces the addition of a Pressure/Force Tuning Wizard for the RMC70 Series and multi-axis RMC150 motion controllers. Delta’s Tuning Wizard for position has been very popular, and is now with available for pressure and force axes, including axes that are often challenging to tune manually while required to transition between position and pressure control. The Delta Tuning Wizard calculates tuning gains for you. The wizard first guides you through the process of obtaining plots. Using this plot data, the wizard then develops a mathematical model of your system. Finally, the gain calculator determines the required gain parameters and presents the user with a simple slider bar to choose the desired performance—from conservative to aggressive.

Go to deltamotion.com and download RMCTools software and firmware for this much requested feature improvement. Examples of how to use the Tuning Wizard are available in the Help section of RMCTools and can easily be used with Delta’s built-in simulator.

Pressure/Force Tuning Wizard

"The Pressure/Force Tuning Wizard is another advance in Fluid Power Motion Control." stated Steve Nylund, Delta’s CEO. "This new feature adds to our position tuning wizard and allows customers the ability to tune position-pressure or pressure/force axes faster, better and smoother." Nylund added. The high performance motion control products that Delta designs, manufactures and markets are used worldwide for hydraulic, pneumatic and electric closed-loop control in a wide array of single and multi-axis applications, including testing, food, energy, automotive, entertainment, plastics, materials testing, aerospace, metals and forest products.
